Day 36

This morning we took a walk around the farm where we are staying. There are mowed paths through two meadows that make for a nice morning wander. We also checked out the garden, greenhouse, creek and pond. After our walk, and a quick morning hello to our furry hosts, it was another big day of work.

Our little cottage is on the right (with our car in front of the garage, which was still full of tent).

Day 35

We woke to the sounds of birds and the stream that runs just outside our little cabin. We both worked for a good chunk of the day, with visits from our canine hosts. The weather is beautiful, with highs in the mid-70’s and lows just over 50. Definitely windows and doors open.

Our cute creek side cottage in the morning light. We feel right at home.
Lunch was leftovers from last night’s farmstand grill extravaganza: local game sausages, zucchini, pattypan squash, green beans and onions.

Day 34

After a pretty intense hour of rain last night, we woke up dry, broke camp and had breakfast at the nearby Phoenicia Diner. Then we drove 200 miles to Roxbury, VT to our AirBnB for the week, stopping at farmstands along the way.

Day 33

We got to have coffee with our friends Frank and Ni just outside of New Paltz before taking a short drive to the Kenneth L Wilson campground in the Catskills. We’re hoping to stay dry tonight and will head to Vermont tomorrow morning.

Day 32

This morning, before it got too hot, we went to the Wallkill Valley Rail Trail for some exercise. We spent the rest of the day visiting friends in the Hudson Valley, but unfortunately didn’t snap photos of anyone except Matty’s new BFF Moose.

Day 30

Last day in Mystic: there was a heat advisory but it stayed overcast most of the day so we were able to get out and about a little more and enjoy an early happy hour dinner at Engine Room, another of our favorite restaurants in Mystic.

It’s hot, but we had fun revisiting some of our favorite places in Mystic, CT and discovering what’s new since we were last here.

Day 28

Littleton, NH to Mystic, CT, about 250 miles. Got breakfast from The Coffee Pot in Littleton and took a nice walk along the river this morning before heading out. We mainly stayed off the highway as we drove through NH, VT, NH again, MA and finally pulled in to Mystic, CT. Then we had a lovely farm dinner at Stone Acres, the farm of our favorite restaurant in Mystic.

Day 27

A rainy day in Littleton NH, but we managed to have breakfast from the local diner and see a few things this morning before having lunch back at Schilling Beer Company. Caught up on work in the afternoon.
