Day 42 – 53

The past two weeks have been work weeks for Meg. Wicked Bodies performed at Jacob’s Pillow Dance Festival in Becket, MA. We’ve tried to balance late night work in the outdoor tent (during a very lengthy heat advisory) with some morning adventures. While Meg was working, Matt interviewed for a new job, accepting an offer just before we took off for some recovery days in Livingston Manor, NY (actually our final stop in the Catskills, for real this time). The new job is 100% remote so we’ll get to finish the road trip, with a few scheduling changes.

Day 40

We took advantage of Meg’s final day off before two busy work weeks and drove across the mountains to Burlington, on the shores of Lake Champlain. But first we visited Sunset Lake, about 15 min from our lodging.

Day 39

Graham recommend a visit to Hill Farmstead Brewery, so after a stop to pickup a picnic lunch at Bohemian Bakery in Montpelier, we headed further north. We stuck to the back roads and the mountain scenery was unbelievable. We stumbled upon lots of fun stops along the way.

Day 32

This morning, before it got too hot, we went to the Wallkill Valley Rail Trail for some exercise. We spent the rest of the day visiting friends in the Hudson Valley, but unfortunately didn’t snap photos of anyone except Matty’s new BFF Moose.

Day 28

Littleton, NH to Mystic, CT, about 250 miles. Got breakfast from The Coffee Pot in Littleton and took a nice walk along the river this morning before heading out. We mainly stayed off the highway as we drove through NH, VT, NH again, MA and finally pulled in to Mystic, CT. Then we had a lovely farm dinner at Stone Acres, the farm of our favorite restaurant in Mystic.

Day 18

350 miles today through PA and NY to Andes, NY. We’re staying in a very cute apartment in the middle of Andes for the next few days. After unloading and getting settled we walked down the street to Wayside Cider for dinner.

Cute AirBnB kitchen!
Very comfortable mattress and bed linens. We slept extremely well, except for the night we discovered we’re next to the volunteer fire station and the bell rang to call the fire-people at 2:30am.

And then walked to the lake.
