Day 5

Charles City IA to Wauwatosa WI. We took all the back roads and made some fun stops along the way.

Day 4

Today was the Smith family reunion at Lion’s Field Park in Charles City, IA. We had 45 relatives in attendance.

Day 3

Wauwatosa WI to Charles City IA for Smith family reunion. 280-ish miles with a stop in Decorah for lunch at Toppling Goliath. It’s Party in the Park here in Charles City, and there were some great food trucks. It turned into a gorgeous night so we sat out at Tellurian Brewing sampling beers and then took a walk along the Cedar River.

We were looking for dinner and not dessert, but this sign was too good to pass up.

Day 2

Today we hung out in Wauwatosa, WI, working and tying up some loose ends from the move. We had the best co-worker: Major is 14 and is a Very Good Dog.

Day 1

After packing the car, we got on the road from Louisville to Milwaukee, with a lunch stop in Indianapolis and dinner with the Krajcis. 400+ miles, and 4 states: KY, IN, IL, WI.

Not bad for a first draft, but it’s definitely a work in progress.
This pack is going to need some refinement if we’re ever going to have passengers.
Sun King was a great lunch stop, but we were lucky to get some shade.
